Talk about consistency.
David Judd, Fiat Club’s Victorian President and his active Committee have developed a reputation for attracting “Surprise” exhibits of rare Fiat and other Italian classic cars at their Annual Autobella Display.
Last Sunday’s Autobella (17/4/16 held at Como Park in Melbourne, was no exception).
This years “Surprises” certainly attracted the attention of Italian classic owners and enthusiasts as well as photographers (both amateurs and professional).
Chris de Fraga, well known motoring industry commentator, who was THE AGE Motoring Editor for 25 years, was there talking to exhibitors and taking a few photos. Chris has owned a few Fiats over the years.
These ‘Surprises” attracted a lot of interest from the big crowd:
– 1911 Fiat Tipo Spider
– 1915 & 1922 Fiat Tipos
– 1955 Chrysler ST Special Coupe with Italian Ghia designed and built body
– 1959 Stanguellini F.J. ( Formula Junior) with Fiat engine
– a few Italian “Hot Rods”
Dishan Marikar, the Italian Auto Icons photographer was there and his photo gallery can be accessed via the links below.
We will post a further Autobella article with photos next week to provide more information on these Surprises and those cars that won the top category awards.
